A SCHOOL'S sports team will return to lessons today bathed in glory after flying the flag for the UK in an overseas tournament at the weekend.
Woodham Warriors - the American flag football team from Woodham Community Technology College, near Newton Aycliffe - represented the UK in the European Championships held in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The team put up a valiant effort in their group fixtures on but missed out on a place in the final stages.
Danny Ketch, a student coach, said: "The youngsters were proud to represent their country and pleased to have made it so far.
"It was a big thrill to be out in Germany competing at European level, the boys done good."
