A MUSICAL event turned the clock back as part of a town's efforts to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
More than 200 people packed Mainsforth and District Community Centre, Ferryhill Station, on Saturday for the event.
Ferryhill Town Band and Ferryhill Amateur Operatic Society provided the entertainment and members of Mainsforth and District Community Association decorated the hall.
Performers and people in the audience wore 1940s costumes.
Ferryhill Mayor Julie Bainbridge said: "There is no shortage of talent in Ferryhill. It was a real community event and generated a great deal of community spirit."
A raffle raised £152.50 for the Royal British Legion.
The next event, funded by the Home Front Recall programme, is a children's drama and music night at Broom Cottages Primary School, Ferryhill.
