The A692 Consett Road at Watergate Bank, Gateshead, will be closed to traffic on Sunday for maintenance and roadside drain emptying.
The road will be closed between its junctions with Whickham Highway and Pennyfine Road from 4am to 6pm.
Access will be maintained for residents, as well as the Ravensdene Lodge Hotel, Lobley Hill, and Marquis of Granby pub, in Streetgate.
Traffic will be diverted via Sunniside Road, Broom Lane and Whickham Highway
