RETIRED headteacher Ken Charlton is to present his 22nd solo art exhibition.

He brings his Lasting Impressions to the Little Gallery at Kirkleatham Museum, Redcar, at the weekend.

Mr Charlton, who was headteacher at Hurworth Comprehensive School, near Darlington, for 15 years, has produced more than 300 watercolours since he ended a career in education in 1995.

There will be about 50 works of art, all landscapes, featuring Paddy's Hole, Sleights, Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough and Runswick Bay, at the exhibition, which runs from Sunday, July 3, to Sunday, August 15.

Mr Charlton, from Billingham, said: "If I'm not in the garden or out and about, I'm painting."
