A NUMBER of changes to bus services in Darlington will come into effect from tomorrow, replacing services formerly offered by the Green Bus Company.

The most significant change is the withdrawal of Services 17A and 17C.

Alternatives have been put in place - Brafferton will be served Monday to Saturday during the day by the hourly Arriva Service 91.

Walworth, Walworth Gate, Heighington and School Aycliffe will be served by Service 97 every two hours with some journeys going via Houghton le Side and The Royal Oak.

Service 16A on evenings and Sunday will be withdrawn. Alternative evening and Sunday services to Mowden will be provided by Services 30A and 31A. These will be operated to the existing timetable by JSB on Monday to Saturday and Stagecoach on Sundays.

Service 97 will be revised between Darlington town centre and Royal Oak.

It will now operate via Woodland Road, Milbank Road, Carmel Road North, Cockerton Green, Stooperdale Avenue, Bates Avenue, Walworth and Heighington to School Aycliffe.

Some journeys will run via Houghton le Side to Royal Oak. The service will no longer operate via Middleton St George (The Square) and Woolsington Drive. Buses will continue to run every two hours.

Service 26 will run in the evenings and on Sunday between Darlington town centre and Harrowgate Farm every hour.

The Sunday Services 18 and 23 and early morning Services 20, 21 and 24 will now be operated by Stagecoach but there is no change to the timetable.

The Sunday Service 74 will now be operated by Leven Valley and there will be a revised timetable after 6pm on Sundays.
