RESIDENTS will find out next week what is being done to tackle anti-social behaviour in their area.

Three meetings of the Police and Community Safety Consultative Forum are taking place - in the north, south and centre of Hartlepool as part of a regular consultation programme.

Representatives from the police, fire and Hartlepool Borough Council will talk about the initiatives they are involved in and residents will get the chance to ask questions.

Alison Mawson, the council's head of community safety and prevention, said: "The forum meetings are very useful because it gives residents an opportunity to find out what is happening to make their communities safer.

"For this round of forum meetings, we will be focusing on anti-social behaviour as well as issuing some recent crime statistics.

"We do urge residents to come along, because they have a very important role to play in the partnership efforts to reduce crime and the fear of crime."

The meeting in the south area takes place tomorrow, from 6pm, at the Rossmere Community Building, Rossmere Way. The north area meeting takes place on Wednesday, from 6pm, at the Holy Trinity Church Hall, Davison Drive.

The final meeting, for the central area, is on Thursday, from 6pm, in Committee Room B, Civic Centre.
