A FORMER World Cup Rally winner visited a primary school to meet youngsters who followed his progress in a recent event.

Nicky Porter, of West Auckland, won the ten-day, 2,000-mile World Cup Rally at Carthage, in 2003, and came to Woodhouse Close Junior School, in Bishop Auckland, to talk to year six pupils.

He took his vehicle, in which he won previous world rallies and this year's London to Dakar event.
