A GROUP of archers are to hold a marathon sponsored shoot in aid of Sport Relief.
Durham City Archers will spend 24 hours firing at targets in an attempt to raise money for people in the world’s poorest countries.
The club believes members will be the first in the world to take part in a 24-hour event, which will be a test of endurance, skill and concentration for even elite archers.
The shoot will start at 7pm on Friday, at Framwellgate School Durham.
Visitors are encouraged to come along to support the archers during their challenge and also try the sport for themselves, as well as raising money for the charity.
Between 3pm and 5pm on Saturday, anyone between the age of eight and 80 can have a go at archery under the supervision of qualified coaches.
All equipment will be supplied by the club, but potential archers should wear closed-toe shoes.
