The Friends of King George V group in partnership with Ferryhill Town Council are appealing for members of the public who frequently use or have an interest in King George V Playing Fields to become members.

The relatively new group has been established to identify any potential improvements and projects for the playing fields. The group intend meeting on a regular basis to look at issues such as funding, project development and problems associated with the playing fields.

Although the Town Council has initiated the group, it is hoped that local residents will play a key role in the future activities of the group so that it becomes more community lead.

Portfolio Holder for the King George Playing Fields, Councillor Steven Avery said, “This is the perfect opportunity for local residents to get involved and have their say on future developments of the fields”.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Friends of King George V group or for further information contact Karen Younghusband at Ferryhill Town Hall on 01740 652157.
