The Bishop of Durham, Tom Wright will pay a visit to Ferryhill on the 14th of March themed ‘Signs of Hope’.

The visit has been organised by Reverend Keith Lumsdon to show the Bishop the regeneration work and renewals programme happening in the town.

He will visit various locations to see work in progress in the town centre, Ferryhill Station, Dean Bank corridor environmental improvements and the new sports facility in Dean Bank Park.

The leader of the council, Councillor Pat McCourt said, “I am delighted the Bishop is paying a visit to Ferryhill to see all the excellent work being undertaken by the town council and in partnership with Durham County Council”.

The Bishop will also call for lunch at the Surtees Arms and try the aptly named Bishops Yard, which is brewed on site by a micro brewery to the rear of the pub.
