A WOMAN who was rescued by lifeboat crews in Redcar, east Cleveland, has died, police reported last night.
The 37-year-old woman, from the Middlesbrough area, was seen to walk towards the water near the cinema just before 4pm on Monday, before being knocked down by a wave.
It later emerged that she was pulled from the water by a local lifeboatman whose son was caught up in an avalanche in the Lake District at the same time.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the womans death and a post mortem was to be carried out.
