EIGHT students will cycle across the country to raise money for a North-East school for children with special needs.
Kevin Robson and Adam Fearman, both from Spennymoor; Tom Greenwood, of Whitley Bay; Rob Teasdale, from Worksop; Jamie Liddle, of Boldon; Dean Hodgson, of Gateshead; and Alan Laverick and Jack Ballantyne, both from Sunderland, will ride the C2C.
Sponsorship they raise will be donated to Barbara Priestman School in Sunderland, because Mr Laverick’s brother is a pupil.
They also want to support a local cause and know that the school appreciates funds towards new equipment to help children with their specific needs.
The group, who all study at The University of Sunderland, will start the 120mile coast to coast ride at Seaburn on March 30.
They cycle through towns, cities and across the Pennines and Lake District before arriving in Whitehaven, in Cumbria, on April 1.
To support the group’s efforts email adamfearman@hotmail.co.uk.
