YOUNG drummers have been given a masterclass by some of the best in the industry.
Students at the Northern School of Contemporary Music, at The Forum music centre, in Darlington, welcomed some of the country’s most respected drummers for a day of workshops and seminars.
One of them, Karl Brazil, played with Robbie Williams at the Brit Awards last week.
He has played with Elton John, James Blunt and Shania Twain.
Steve White, who headlined the event, plays with Paul Weller and The Who.
Also showing off their skills were Bob Dalton, from Cumbrian rockers It Bites, and drum technician Martin Ranscombe.
Stuart Ellerton, director of the Northern School of Contemporary Music, said: “All of them were absolutely phenomenal.
To have all those guys under one roof for one day was just amazing.”
The drummers who appeared at the event on Saturday are sponsored by Guru Drums.
The Northern School of Contemporary Music has been operating for six years from its base in Darlington, offering music lessons, dance, and, from next month, drama.
It has about 550 students. To enrol, call 01325-389970.
