POLICE are investigating a robbery at the LLoyds TSB Bank at The Precinct, in Blaydon, Tyneside.
Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at the Wesley Court bank just after 9am this morning.
It is understood staff working inside the bank may have been sprayed with ammonia and ambulance crews were called to treat the injured.
Police said that an unspecified amount of money was taken.
Anyone in the area of The Precinct at the time and who saw anything suspicious is asked to call Northumbria Police on 03456 043-043.
