A teenager with cystic fibrosis was awarded for his commitment to training at a south Durham college last week.
Friends and family gathered at Bishop Auckland College’s sports hall to applaud the work of students and staff at an awards ceremony.
Painting and decorating student Christopher Wright, of Spennymoor, was the overall winner for commitment to study.
Attending the awards with his grandmother, the 19-year-old with cystic fibrosis was applauded for his enthusiasm and determination to succeed.
Joanna Tait, handing out the accolades, said: "It is great to end the academic year on a high note and we are delighted with all our students’ achievements, well done and congratulations to them."
