SAILOR Sir Robin Knox- Johnston was at the show yesterday to unveil a seafaring attraction.
Sir Robin, who in 1968 became the first person to sail solo non-stop around the world, was viewing the Hull and Humber clipper yacht, which will race around the globe later this year.
He welcomed showgoers aboard and introduced them to some of the crew from Yorkshire and Humber taking part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, which he founded in 1996.
Sir Robin said: “People who do the race come back changed, with greater selfconfidence and saying ‘That’s the greatest thing I’ve ever done’.”
The race will start from Hull on September 13, retur
