THE BODY of a man reported missing from home was found at a beauty spot near the North-East coast last night.

Police said the body was identified as that of Adrian Welsh, a 37-year-old self-employed plasterer, who was last seen at the house he shares with his partner in South Terrace, Horden, County Durham, early on Monday morning.

Police were told that there was concern for his welfare as he was depressed over several personal problems.

He failed to turn up for a pre-arranged work contract yesterday and his car was later found parked on the A1086 just outside Horden Dene.

Search teams combed the dene area and the body was found last night.

Durham Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a file is being prepared for the county coroner's office.
