COMMUTERS travelling to and from Darlington are reminded to be extra cautious when driving on the A66 tonight.
Weather conditions are not good. Plenty of heavy rain is bouncing off windscreens. This affects visibility and road safety.
Yet another accident on the notorious route was reported to the Fire and Rescue Service, at about 7.45pm. Two fire engines from Barnard Castle station attended the scene.
A spokesperson said: “One man was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital, by ambulance, for treatment.”
The extents of his injuries are not yet known. It is believed that he will be kept in overnight for observation.
The car, travelling eastbound on the A66, near Barnard Castle, hit the central reservation. The incident involved a large goods vehicle.
