Top Cockfield mechanic Neville (Chevy) Wright, steered two classic Mercedes motors to success at a national car show.
Car fanatic Neville won five accolades at the Mercedes Benz Club’s National Concours event in Milton Keynes, and was the only competitor to enter two cars at the event.
Nev’s 1988 registration vehicle was crowned Car of the Show, Best Master class Saloon, and won the Stuttgart Trophy, and McGuire trophy.
His 1984 Mercedes was crowned Best Four Door Concours d’Elegance.
Nev works at the Diamond Garage in West Auckland, and describes the National Concours event as ‘the FA Cup of the Mercedes Benz club’.
"I had a smile on my face all the way home afterwards," he said.
"To be honest, it got a bit embarrassing towards the end when they kept calling me out for awards."
His awards mean the cars have been automatically entered into the indoor classic car show which takes place in Birmingham later this year.
Congratulations Nev, yet another example of the talented people who live in Cockfield.
