WOMEN in Hartlepool are being invited to help shape the future of a popular exercise initiative.
Hartlepool Council officers want females to have a say on which sports should be included in their 2010 Women’s Begin 2 programme.
The three-year programme, which is funded jointly by Sport England and the council’s sports development team, aims to introduce more women to sport and exercise.
It began earlier this year, focusing on aerobics, running, badminton and swimming.
Emma Surrey, assistant sports development officer with the sports development team, said: "The programme is already very popular. For example, 30 women took part in the aerobics sessions and we have a waiting list, while 100 women signed up for Begin 2 Run.
"However, we now need to start planning the programme for next year, so it is important that we hear from people.
"We may not be able to meet every individual request, but, hopefully, by consulting in this way we will get a feel for what most people want."
