A TRACTOR created from a car and another fuelled by paraffin were among the attractions at a North-East museum this weekend.
Dozens of people visited the vintage tractors rally at the Locomotion: National Railway Museum in Shildon, County Durham, where 17 ancient farming vehicles were on display.
A tractor created from a 1927 Austin car, and a 1940s vehicle which powered with paraffin as well as petrol, proved particularly popular with visitors.
Many exhibits were donated from local farmers, and museum manager George Muirhead hopes the event will expand next year.
"It was the first time we had held a tractor rally, and we have been really surprised at the response," said Mr Muirhead.
"The event attracted a good crowd, many of whom had not been to the museum before.
"Most of the tractor owners are local and know of other people who would be interested in exhibiting vehicles next year.
"We are very pleased with the outcome."
