A WOMAN motorcyclist killed in a collision with three other vehicles has been named as Alison Maughan, who was 47 and from the Chilton area of Durham.

Ms Maughan died after the accident on the A68, half a mile north of the Harperley Hall roundabout, on the Crook to Tow Law stretch of road at around 9.45am yesterday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of her injuries.

Three other vehicles were involved, but no other injuries have been reported other than shock.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Inspector Lee Morris at Durham Constabulary’s accident investigation unit on 0345-60-60-365.

Meanwhile, a cyclist has died after colliding with a car in Hartlepool at the weekend.

The man, who has not yet been named, was riding along Dalton Back Lane, in Hartlepool, near the junction with the A689, when the incident occurred at around 5pm on Saturday.
