TEACHERS are turning detectives to track down young sporting stars of the Sixties.
Northallerton College – formerly the town’s Grammar School, in North Yorkshire – is about to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
And staff plan to mark the milestone by getting together with as many former pupils and staff as possible.
Spokesman David Thomas said: “One hundred years is a very significant event in our college’s history.
“To help mark the occasion, we are appealing for as many former pupils and staff as possible to help us celebrate.
“We have been sent a number of items of memorabilia spanning the century including a college football team photograph and it would be great if anyone out there could put names to the faces to enable us to invite them to our celebration.”
The picture, sent in by former pupil Dave Watson, of Northallerton, shows 13 members of the 1967-68 season team with an unidentified teacher.
“It would be very interesting to see who these pupils were and their teacher and find out what they are doing now,” said Mr Thomas.
The college is also requesting recipients of its highest honour, the Cuthbert Cross, to get in touch.
