TWO street thefts in a town are believed to have been carried out by the same man.
The first happened at 10.30am on Thursday in Selbourne Terrace, in the Northgate area of Darlington.
A woman in her early 20s, who was returning home from shopping, was targeted by a man on foot.
He grabbed her arm and prised her black LG K360 mobile phone and purse from her hand, then ran off towards Gladstone Street.
The purse contained only a few pounds, and the victim was shaken, but unhurt.
At about 2pm, a man in his 50s was targeted by a man on a silver mountain bike. He snatched the man’s Motorola phone as he walked through North Lodge Park.
The thief was white, aged about 19, and was about 6ft.
He had light-coloured, shaved hair. He was slim and wore a dark tracksuit top and bottoms.
