STAFF at a law firm have raised almost £900 for charity.

Workers from offices of Gordon Brown Associates in Chester-le-Street, Sunderland, Newcastle, Houghton-le-Spring and Low Fell, last week took part in the Midnight Walk to raise money for St Cuthbert’s Hospice, in Durham City.

The 10km walk, around Aykley Heads, in the north of Durham City, is the second time in recent weeks that the firm has raised money for the hospice.

On May 27, staff organised a charity night at Chester-le-Street Cricket Club centred around the Champions League Final.

Gordon Brown, Senior Partner at Gordon Brown Associates, described the charity events as good opportunities to socialise in aid of a good cause.

"We were also able to engage others in our fund-raising," he said.

Gordon Brown Associates raised a combined total of £890 from the two fund-raising evenings for the hospice, which offers care to people with life-limiting conditions.
