A three car crash on the A1, just south of the Dishforth Interchange, near Boroughbridge, left tailbacks of more than 11 miles on the southbound carriageway and delays of up to 90 minutes, at about 1.30pm today.
The male driver of a Renault Scenic was taken to Harrogate District Hospital and the female driver of Ford Fiesta was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The driver of a Ford Transit van also involved in the collision was unharmed.
