A CANADIAN artist known for her animation work on hit films has opened an exhibition featuring views of her new home in the North-East.
Rebecca Barclay, who has worked on Walt Disney films and Christmas favourite The Snowman, has settled with her husband in County Durham.
She is exhibiting pen and ink drawings of the Wear Valley at Durham University’s Trevelyan College, Elvet Hill Road, Durham City, from today until Friday, March 13.
The varied show also features oil paintings of musicians with their instruments, etchings and abstract oils.
During the Eighties and Nineties she spent much of her time working on animated films. Her name is in the credits of a number of films and features, including Return to Neverland, Walt Disney’s 2002 sequel to Peter Pan – Return to Never Land, the award-winning Tukiki (1979) and the Oscar-nominated The Snowman (1982).
This free exhibition is open to the public daily, from 10am to 6pm.
