A 68-year-old woman was taken to hospital after her mobility scooter was involved in a collision with a blue Renault Laguna at 1.35pm today in Clarence Street, near to the junction with New Bridge Street, in Shieldfield, Newcastle.
The woman was taken to Newcastle General Hospital for treatment to her injuries, which have not been disclosed.
The road was closed for about 30 minutes as a result of the accident and police are urging that any witnesses contact them on 03456 043 043, extension 62780.
