BUSKING charity fundraiser Norman Evans has launched his biography.

The book, called We May as Well Dance, has been co-written by friends Stephen Proudman, the chairman of the Real Opportunity Centre (Roc), in Redcar, east Cleveland, and Roc supporter Michael Beckett, and has been published by Roc, priced £5.

Mr Evans, who is wheelchairbound, is Roc’s president, and he was given the Freedom of the Borough in 2005 for raising hundreds of thousands of pounds busking, notably in Redcar High Street.

He said: “I hope reading about how I learnt to appreciate the positive things in life will help others to adopt a similar approach to their lives. Someone once said to me, ‘Life may not be the party we hope for, but while we’re here we might as well dance’,” said Mr Evans.

Copies of the book are available from Mr Evans, when he busks at Morrisons supermarket, in Redcar, as well as from Roc’s offices, in Coatham Memorial Hall, and from the Shopmobility office.
