POLICE have issued an urgent appeal for public help in tracing a missing man.
Raymond Arthurs, 30, of Second Street, Chester-le-Street, is in ill health and was only discharged from Durham's University Hospital yesterday (Tuesday). He had been detained there since the weekend.
A spokesman for Durham Police said he walked out of his home at 5.40pm last night after a conversation with his brother that have heightened concerns for his safety.
Mr Arthurs drove off in a silver three-door Ford Focus Zetec, registration V9 SKD.
Acting Inspector Jim Peel said given the circumstances, officers are carrying out a variety of checks and have circulated Mr Arthur's details to neighbouring forces.
He added: "It is imperative to quickly locate the missing man to establish he is safe and well."
Anyone with information is asked to call Durham Police on 0345 60 60 365.
