A CHARITY is looking for new volunteers to help out at its shop.

Disability charity Scope is looking for helping hands at its shop in North Road, Durham City, which raises funds for its vital work.

The charity says its is looking for reliable and keen volunteers of all ages and abilities, no matter how much or how little time they can offer.

Volunteers help preparing stock, assisting customers, operating the till, creating displays, helping collect donations, completing shop paperwork, or running a department such as books or new product lines.

Tony Scott, Scope’s area manager, said: "The start of a new year gives all of us a chance to take stock of our lives and consider doing something different.

"People from all walks of life and backgrounds volunteer with Scope and make a real difference to the local community.

"Even if working in a charity shop is something completely new to you, just have a chat with our shop manager and we’ll see what we can do."

For further information, call into the shop or visit the charity’s website www.scope.org.uk.
