MORE than 100 women attended a fundraising "Ladies’ Night" to raise money for an Arctic challenge.
The event, which included a charity auction, was held at the Black Sheep Brewery, in Masham, on Saturday It was organised to raise money for The Big Push Up campaign, in which a team of four intrepid motor cyclists will the Arctic Circle next spring to raise £25,000 for the Scott Suite Breast Cancer Ward, at The Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton.
The riders are covering their own costs for the challenge, but are staging a number of fundraising events to drum up as much support as possible for the charity.
Louise Guy, of the brewery’s marketing team, said: "The night was a huge success with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves.
"The ladies raised more than £3,000 - an amazing amount of money for a great cause.
"We’re delighted at the support we’re getting from all our colleagues and it is really motivating our motorbike team as they prepare for their epic ride next year."
The Arctic trek is set to take place next summer.
The team includes Black Sheep’s national sales manager Brian Smith, account manager Allan Russell, engineer Mark Allison and friend of the brewery John Oldridge, with a support vehicle team consisting of brewery founders Paul and Sue Theakston.
