A SINGER songwriter is hitting the right notes in North Yorkshire by winning the Klondike Song of the Year award.
Rebekah Findlay, of Thornton-le-Moor, near Thirsk, has won the 2008 Klondike Folk and Arts songwriting competition.
Her winning song Duty Bound was unanimously voted the best by the three judges at Kirkby Fleetham Folk Club.
The 28-year-old has been writing songs for just over six months including material for her first album.
She plays the guitar and fiddle and sings in the local band Blind Summat and is part of the duo With One Stone.
