A NEW £43,000 website has been launched by North Yorkshire Police to help get its message across to the public.

The force hopes to explain its work in more detail to the local communities it serves.

This website will have a page for each of the police’s safer neighbourhood teams who cover the area.

These pages will allow the safer neighbourhood teams to explain to the locals they cover what is going on.

Training has been given to the force’s staff so they can input details into the website and regular checks will be made of content.

Each page will carry a banner at the top which will feature the force’s non emergency phone number.

The force managed to make a saving of £840 on the creation of the new website from the cost originally quoted.

Members of the North Yorkshire Police Authority are to view the new website at its citizen focus and engagement forum.
