PUPILS in Coundon experienced continental culture when ten overseas teachers visited their school.
Six representatives from Turkish schools, and four from Denmark, arrived at St Joseph’s RC Primary School earlier this week as part of the Building Bridges partnership.
Staff swapped information about good practice in schools, and shared ideas about different education systems, whilst pupils gained an understanding of different cultures.
Special events during the week included international food tasting with mouth watering treats from Turkey, Denmark, and the UK, plus visits to Durham Cathedral and St John’s RC secondary school in Bishop Auckland.
Visitors, staff, and pupils were also treated to a lesson from Zoo Lab, featuring an array of live exotic animals, including creepy crawlies and snakes.
