POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 26-year-old man received a serious stab wound to his abdomen.

The incident took place at around 2.45am on Monday in Ronaldshay Terrace in Marske, near Redcar.

A 16-year-old youth was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed pending further enquiries. The victim is currently in James Cook University Hospital in a stable condition.
