A FORMER student who founded a record label returned to her old college to share her knowledge of the music business.

Kitty Hedley studied at New College Durham between 2000 and 2004, before going on to manage bands Spokes and Petals on a Wet Black Bough, and create the Everyone label.

Current music students quizzed her about her career, in an event organised by lecturer Andy Wain, who taught Ms Hedley.

Mr Wain said: "It’s no surprise to me that Kitty is doing well as she was always a very determined and pro-active student.

"I’m glad we were able to persuade her to come back to the college as her go-getting attitude was an inspiration to the students, and they all now have a real insight into what a job in the music industry really involves."
