Golfers from businesses and organisations across the North East have helped raise £3,500 for a youth charity dedicated to helping young people thrive.
The funds were raised at NE Youth’s annual Corporate Golf Day, held on Thursday, September 24, at Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club in Durham.
A total of 68 golfers, making up 17 teams, took part in the event, which was sponsored by RGM Maintenance Group Ltd and featured an 18-hole shotgun format on the championship course.
Jon Niblo, chief executive of NE Youth, said: "Events like this are so important to NE Youth.
"Businesses not only get a chance to have some fun and network with colleagues and other businesses, but they also get the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people.
"The money raised will support us to continue to provide high quality youth work provision in our local communities and support some of the most disadvantaged young people in our region."
The day included competitions for the overall team trophy, runners-up, Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Beat the Pro.
Wilson Gray Consulting claimed first place with 85 points, while Elliot James Legal finished as runners-up.
Ben Salter won Longest Drive, Leo Brown took Nearest the Pin, and Jimmy Galbrath triumphed in the Beat the Pro challenge.
Mr Niblo thanked those who made the day possible.
He said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the teams, sponsors and supporters who contributed to the success of this year’s event, and a special shout out to RGM Maintenance Group Ltd for sponsoring the day and the team at Ramside Golf Club for providing the venue and hospitality."
The event was also supported by hole sponsors Blaydon Bathrooms, Robertson North, and ProFire Safety, while Vertu Motors sponsored the Beat the Pro challenge.
Ray Muir, director of RGM Maintenance Group Ltd, explained why the company chose to get involved.
Mr Muir said: "NE Youth is an amazing charity that we were fortunate to be introduced to through The Inn Collection Group.
"After learning more about the incredible opportunities they provide to help young people build confidence, develop their skills and achieve their full potential, we knew we wanted to support the fantastic work they do."
Mr Muir said: "As parents of young children ourselves, we understand just how important it is to give young people the right support, opportunities and encouragement as they grow and develop.
"Being able to give something back to our local community and contribute to such an important cause is something we are incredibly proud of."
He said the company was delighted to back the event.
