Pokémon fans have marked three decades of adventure with their favourite characters and cards.
The Metrocentre became a magnet for collectors, families and long-time fans celebrating Pokémon’s 30th anniversary today.
Ahead of the celebrations, the Gateshead shopping centre revealed that several of its stores would be stocking the special addition cards released for the anniversary.
Taking to social media, they said: "Get Pokémon 30th Anniversary ready at Metrocentre!
"Whether you’re hunting for trading cards, collectibles or the latest Pokémon must haves, get ready to celebrate 30 years of Pokémon with our retailers!"
Today (September 16), shoppers flocked to the centre to snap up trading cards, toys, clothing, and collectibles featuring beloved characters like Pikachu, Eevee, and Charizard.
Demand for Pokémon merchandise has surged, with huge queues forming at the Metrocentre for a new trading card shop in July.
Aqua TCG opened at The Crescent, Upper Green Mall, offering a wide selection of cards, graded collectables, sealed products and trading card accessories.
