McDonald's will hand out hundreds of free coffees to North East commuters next week as it launches its revamped McCafé range.
Early-morning travellers passing through Newcastle Central Station can pick up a free McCafé coffee between 7am and 10am on Thursday, September 24, as the fast-food giant showcases its new lighter roast brew.
The giveaway coincides with the rollout of a refreshed McCafé range made with 100 per cent Arabica beans, alongside two new permanent syrup flavours - salted caramel and vanilla.
Commuters will be able to choose from a flat white, latte, cappuccino, white coffee or americano, with the option of adding either syrup for a sweeter start to the day.
Limited to one coffee per person, the promotion will run during the station's busiest morning period.
McDonald's said the event is designed to introduce customers to its new lighter roast, which is being rolled out across restaurants nationwide.
Customers can also claim a free coffee every week through the McDonald's app until September 30, allowing regular users to enjoy up to four complimentary drinks throughout the month.

The fast-food chain said the refreshed range is intended to strengthen its McCafé offer, with both salted caramel and vanilla syrups becoming permanent additions to menus.
The free coffee event will take place at Newcastle Central Station on September 24 from 7am until 10am.
The event runs alongside a series of autumn launches from McDonald's, including the arrival of an eight-item international menu at all 62 North East restaurants on Tuesday, September 22.
