Man wanted for eight years charged after airport arrest

A man wanted for eight years has been charged with multiple offences in County Durham.

Leroy Breton, 47, was arrested at Luton Airport yesterday evening (September 15), on his return to the UK from Malaga.

He faces charges including controlling and coercive behaviour, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, three counts of rape, sexual assault, and stalking.

These charges relate to alleged offences against a woman in Stanley between 2016 and 2018.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court tomorrow (September 17).
