A Bishop Auckland woman has been fined after rubbish bags and cardboard were left in a road in County Durham.
Lauren Anne Watson, of Bridge Street, Bishop Auckland, was prosecuted by Durham County Council over litter deposited outside the same address.
The case was dealt with at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 2, under the Single Justice Procedure.
The court found that on or before February 25, 2026, Watson had thrown down, dropped or otherwise deposited approximately six to eight refuse sacks or bags and a flattened cardboard box or piece of cardboard in the road at Bridge Street.
The rubbish was then left there.

Watson was fined £220 and ordered to pay £130 in costs and an £88 victim surcharge.
The total amount owed is £438.
A collection order was made, and the balance must be paid by September 30.
