A “prestigious” North Yorkshire hotel has hit the market – for £1.95 million.
The Boar's Head Hotel in Ripley, north of Harrogate, is for sale.
It comes after the nearby Ripley Castle and its estate were put on the market last year for £15 million, later reduced to £7.5 million.
Carter Jonas is marketing the 23-bedroom Boar's Head Hotel and said it is an “impressive, well-appointed and historically significant country hotel, long recognised for its character, charm and excellent reputation”.
A spokesperson for the estate agent said the hotel is for sale, together with the adjoining coach house and the Birchwood House located opposite the main building, presenting a “charming collection of Grade II listed properties that retain a strong sense of place and authenticity”.
They added that the property has been “operated as a successful hotel for many years” and is “well regarded by both visitors and local residents”.
The sale represents a “compelling opportunity for a new owner to build upon its established strengths”, they said.

Built during the early 19th century, the main building at the hotel was originally a coaching inn as the first stop for the Leeds to Edinburgh service, while Birchwood House was a private residence.
The accommodation in the main hotel is arranged on basement, ground and first floors with additional attic space.
Birchwood House, meanwhile, is arranged on ground and first floors with an attic for storage.
