Music, glamour and big-name performances took over a County Durham castle as its first ever festival brought two days of entertainment.
Lumley Castle in Chester-le-Street hosted the Opulence festival on Saturday and Sunday (September 4/5) - the first of its kind in the venue's 600-year history.
Day one saw headline performances from Marti Pellow and Gabrielle, supported by North East talent including Smoove and Turrell, Soulutions and Kate Bond.
The festival also featured stilt walkers, fire breathers and jugglers, plus hair braiding, glitter face painting and food and drink stalls.
Organisers said they had been thrilled by the response to the event, with VIP packages selling out almost immediately.
Daz Flatman of ATA Events, which staged Opulence, also performed a DJ set on the second day.
“Since the day we announced Opulence and Live at Lumley there was a huge amount of interest, with many of the VIP and VVIP packages selling out almost immediately,” he said.
Two stages were set up in the castle grounds on Saturday for a day of house music.
The Lawn Stage featured DJs including Sam Divine, Eat Everything, Danny Howard, PBR Street Gang, Daz Flatman, Richard Tulip and The Hutchinson Bros.

The day culminated with headliners Groove Armada taking to the stage.
House music icons including Todd Terry, Lovely Laura and Ben Santiago, Danny Rampling, Alison Limerick, Jon Pleased Wimmin, Paul Taylor, The Beat Boutique, Neil Hargreaves, Emma Harbs and The Missus performed at the Monument Stage.
