Person airlifted after collision on A684 near Wensley

A person has been airlifted to hospital after a crash on a North Yorkshire road.

The incident happened on the outskirts of Wensley today (September 8) at 1.20pm.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We received an emergency call at 1.20pm on Tuesday afternoon to report a collision on the A684 on the outskirts of Wensley.

"An ambulance, a specialist paramedic and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and one patient was airlifted to James Cook Hospital."

AA Traffic Map showed slow-moving traffic earlier today but that has since cleared.

The Northern Echo has contacted North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Air Ambulance for a comment.
