A van believed to be connected to fly-tipping has been seized in County Durham.
Durham County Council’s fly-tipping team and neighbourhood wardens seized the vehicle on Wednesday (August 19) as part of ongoing efforts to tackle a rise in illegal waste dumping in the area.
It follows a recent spate of fly-tipping in the area.
A spokesman for the team said: "Fly-tipping Team and Neighbourhood Wardens have seen an increase in fly-tipping incidents in the South Hetton area.
"Enquiries are ongoing into multiple offence in this area of the county.
"CCTV cameras have been deployed to tackle the issue."

The vehicle is currently being held whilst a subsequent investigation occurs.
The spokesman said: "On Wednesday, NW28 from the DCC Fly tipping Team and Neighbourhood Warden 11 attended a property in South Hetton and seized a vehicle which is believed to have been used in a fly tipping incident in the area recently."
"Action has been taken to deter the alleged offenders."
