A Bishop Auckland motorist has been ordered to pay a fine and costs of £1,310 for driving without insurance.
Christian Batson, of Newton Grange, Toronto, Bishop Auckland, was found guilty at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on August 10.
The court heard that he used a Peugeot 308, on Rosemount Road, Bishop Auckland, on August 4, 2025, when there was no policy of insurance in force that met the requirements of the Road Traffic Act 1988.
The 27-year-old had entered a not guilty plea on March 12.

Following the trial process, magistrates convicted him of using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance.
He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £650 in prosecution costs.
His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points for the offence.
No disqualification was imposed and six points remained on record thereafter.
