A well-known County Durham pub has announced it will be closed until further notice.
The Red Alligator, on Auckland Road in South Church, near Bishop Auckland, announced the temporary closure in a Facebook post on August 11, with customers told it is expected to reopen at a later date.
No reason for the closure has been provided, and a reopening date has not yet been confirmed.
In a message to customers, the pub said: "Please note, The Red Alligator is closed until further notice.
"We’ll keep you updated right here on our page as soon as we have more information and a reopening date. Thank you for your understanding and support.
"We look forward to welcoming you all back again soon."
The Red Alligator is known as a village pub serving drinks and homemade food.
Its name is inspired by Red Alligator, the horse which won the Grand National in 1968.
The horse was trained by Bishop Auckland trainer Denys Smith.

The venue is located on Auckland Road, South Church, and is registered as a public house and bar.
