Families are being given the chance to spend a spooky night inside a museum this Halloween as a major North East attraction launches its first-ever Halloween sleepover event.
The Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle will host its first-ever Halloween sleepover from 5pm on October 30 to 10am on October 31.
The evening will include creepy crafts and games, a terrifying trail, spooky story time, a phantom forest school, a fancy dress disco and a hot buffet feast for teatime.
Alex Boyd, Public Programmes Manager at the Great North Museum: Hancock, said: "We wanted to create an unforgettable Halloween experience for families, packed with adventure.
"If you've ever wondered what happens when the doors close and the lights go down, now is your chance to find out."
After the evening activities, guests can settle down for bedtime stories and sleep among the museum’s fascinating exhibits.
The next morning will include a relaxing planetarium show and a hot breakfast buffet before guests depart at 10am.

Tickets are priced at £85 per person plus booking fee, with all activities, dinner and breakfast included.
The experience is open to adults and children aged six to 12,
