Ferryhill is preparing to welcome families for a weekend of fun as its annual summer gala makes a return.
The event, now in its 26th year, will take place on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, with a packed schedule of activities for all ages.
Last year's event was hailed as a success despite poor weather, and then mayor Angus Ferguson said the gathering had "grown in popularity" since its inception to mark the millennium.
Show rides and catering vehicles will be set up in the Market Place car park from 12pm to 6pm each day.
On Sunday, the full programme of attractions will extend to the Town Hall area and run until 5pm.
Visitors can expect market stalls, live entertainment, and interactive experiences throughout the day.
Inside the Town Hall, children and families can enjoy an animal encounters session featuring scorpions, tarantulas, snakes, and an owl.
Fantabulous Faces will offer face painting and glitter tattoos upstairs, while magician Mr Windbags will perform shows at 1pm and 2.30pm to delight younger visitors.

Last year’s milestone 25th gala included mascot meet-and-greets and a performance from the Hartlepool Bubbleman.
Traders were invited earlier this summer to apply for stalls, with the council promising another fun-filled celebration in the heart of the town.
Free parking will be available throughout the gala at the car park behind Mel’s Travel, the town council said.
